The 6-Step Restoration Process

Step 1 & 2. Scrape, Sand & Dust Removal
Step 1: We start by removing all loose paint using hand scrapers and fine sandpaper. We take special care to maintain original lines and grooves without damaging corners.
Step 2: High-power gas blowers and HEPA vacuums remove all sanding dust, preparing the surface for maximum primer adhesion.
Step 3 & 4. Masking & Oil Primer
Step 3: We mask the glass and surrounding areas to protect from over-spray and maintain razor-sharp paint lines.
Step 4: Application of premium exterior oil-based primer. Sashes are back-brushed to force primer into the grain, followed by hand-sanding once dry.
Step 5 & 6. Caulking & Paint Application
Step 5: Caulking and glazing are applied after primer for maximum adhesion. Final inspection of all cracks and nail holes is performed here.
Step 6: Two coats applied via fine-finish airless sprayers. This ensures windows are never painted shut and creates a flawless, durable finish.
Inside Edges: Our Recommendation
We highly recommend NOT painting any of the inside edges (visible only when the window is open).
Most wood windows are constructed with stain-grain wood. Adding paint layers to inside edges causes sticking. Even if kept open for days, paint can soften 1-2 years later on hot days, gluing the weather stripping to the frame.

Will my windows be painted shut?
Absolutely not. We perform a full "opening check" on every single window before our team leaves the site to ensure they operate perfectly.
Do you paint the "hidden" inside edges?
We recommend leaving sliding tracks and inside edges in their natural wood state. Paint in these areas is the #1 cause of windows sticking years later.
Is an "Exact Bid" the same as an estimate?
No. Our Exact Bid is a fixed-price contract based on a physical inspection. The price we bid is the price you pay—no surprises.
Do I need to remove my own screens?
No need. Our crew handles the removal and careful re-installation of all screens as part of our standard prep process.
