Sealant Technology: Why We Use Sherwin-Williams Power House™ in the PNW
At Elegant Painting®, we don't guess—we test. After reviewing technical specifications for every locally available material, we settled on Sherwin-Williams Power House™ as our preferred solution for both interior and exterior applications.
In the challenging climate of Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland, wood substrates are in a constant state of flux. This product is engineered for extreme durability, offering a stretch capacity of up to 12.5%!
Even the most flexible caulking material will eventually split under extreme thermal expansion. To maintain a premium aesthetic, we utilize color-matched sealants. By matching the caulk to your specific paint color, we ensure that hairline gaps remain invisible to the naked eye, preserving the "free exact bid" quality we promise our clients.

Pacific Northwest Wood Preservation Insights
In high-moisture areas like Sammamish, Issaquah, and Woodinville, improper sealant choice is the #1 cause of premature wood rot. While 2026 exterior paint trends favor deep charcoals and bronzes, these dark colors absorb more heat, leading to higher rates of expansion. Power House™'s siliconized acrylic latex formula provides the specific elasticity needed to bridge gaps on cedar siding and trim without losing adhesion during our signature overcast-to-sun transitions.
